Same idea. Same platform. Very different price.

Subtitle Studio is the tool suubbs most resembles: an offline Whisper subtitle generator for macOS, sold once rather than rented.

It is a good product and it does several things we do not. It translates into a great many languages and can produce dual subtitles. It burns subtitles into an MP4 from inside the app. It converts in bulk. It covers 98+ languages against our sixteen.

It is also $69, against $3.99.

That gap is the entire argument. If you need translation into Cantonese or a one-click burn-in, the extra $65 buys you something real. If you need a Mac app that transcribes your video locally, times it to the word and exports a subtitle file, you are being asked to pay seventeen times as much for it.

Buy Subtitle Studio instead if…

…you need translation into languages other than English, dual-language subtitles, burn-in without touching a command line, or bulk conversion across a folder of files. Those are real features we do not have today, and if your work needs them then $69 is the correct price to pay.

Buy suubbs if your subtitles are in one of our sixteen languages and what you want is accurate word timing, real caption styling and a file you can hand to an editor. You can confirm the whole thing works on your footage in the free browser version before spending $3.99.
